JQX-60F 60 A High-Power Electromagnetic Relay

The JQX-60F is a single-pole, double-throw (SPDT / Form C) power relay designed to switch heavy AC or DC loads such as heating elements, motors, UPS inverters, battery-charging systems, EV chargers and industrial automation panels. Its clear polycarbonate cover lets you inspect contact wear, while large screw terminals (M4) make field wiring quick and secure. A robust moving-armature mechanism with silver-alloy contacts, arc-extinguishing chamber and Class B coil insulation give it long life and reliable operation under tough conditions.

Key application notes

1. Inrush capacity – Although rated 60 A resistive, inductive or tungsten loads draw higher inrush. Derate or use an RC / MOV snubber for contact protection.

2. Coil drive – Keep coil supply within 85–110 % Un for DC types (80–110 % for AC) to maximise life and minimise heating.

3. Back-EMF – Add a diode (DC coils) or RC network (AC coils) across the coil when driven by semiconductor outputs to protect control electronics.

4. Mounting orientation – Vertical mounting with terminals down aids arc dissipation and prevents debris falling into the mechanism.

5. Thermal design – Allow at least 10 mm free air on all sides or fit to a metal chassis to conduct heat away when switching near the 60 A limit continuously.
